I
have had numerous discussions about aftercare, however, this particular talk
was not about its uses it as an element of the nature of the bottoms' mindset,
but more regarding the nature of the bottoms' reason for being there.
Some have asked if his or her bottom is a
masochist.
The
answers have ranged from yes to I do not think so.
There
are those who simply enjoys playing but do not derive ant pleasure from a
beating, but they feel content taking what is dished out in a scene and that is
what makes them happy.
They
submit to the beating given to them as a top to their bottom, however, but they
are not in it for the pain.
Being
as this may be applicable to aftercare, the important questions being asked are
as follows:
If
a masochist derives pleasure from receiving pain, why would being beaten
illicit a response that requires aftercare?
Do
you see your bottom or self as a masochist, or do you think its just submitting
to the tops desire to beat you or them?
David Coates Being a masochist does not necessarily
preclude that he or she doesn't want aftercare. They may desire aftercare as
part of an emotional connection to their Owner or sadist.
Of course, I am certain that many masochists won't require aftercare after receiving pain as it is they ultimately desire. I just think it depends on masochist's emotional disposition. If a masochist derives pleasure from receiving pain, why would being beaten illicit a response that requires aftercare?"
Because the dichotomy between the two is absolutely wonderful.
It's more involved than that, but I find that for those who do not like offering aftercare, all the explanations in the world don't matter.
People like what they like and need what they need. I would remind subs who are also masochists, that masochists are rarer than you might think. As such, you are highly sought after. There is absolutely no reason to be in a relationship in which what you want, desire and more importantly, need, is denied over and over again.
